The Yoga of Contradiction
What kind of lineage is this? ...... where self means no-self, where emptiness means fullness, and fullness means emptiness, or both. If you think you know, you don’t and if you don’t know, you do. Even the notion of lineage collapses in the timeless, as no transmission can occur anyway, since there is no other. What a state of contrariness! What is one to make of an ancient invocation where the arithmetic of truth negates itself, leaving only truth? No wonder there is nothing to get. 0 – 0 = 0 No problem. From the 7th (?) Century BCE, here is the Invocation from the Brhadarayaka Upanishad:
This is fullness. That is fullness. From fullness springs fullness. Take fullness from fullness and only fullness remains.
